Upcoming Festival Screenings September 8, 2010

There are two upcoming festival showings, and the way the world so often works, they’re on the same dates. Unfortunately of course I can’t be at both. One is at the KLIK animation festival in Amsterdam, and that’s the one I’m attending. The screening is Friday night, September 17th. Here’s a link http://www.klikamsterdam.nl/overview_page.php. So if you’re based in Western Europe, especially of course Amsterdam, hope to see you there.
Here’s a link to the second: 2010 Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival. Temecula is
located in California, about 90 miles South and West of Los Angeles , and this is a very impressive event, with lot’s of media attention and film world people in attendance and I’m really regretting not being able to be there, but hope you can!
A Sellout! August 9, 2010

In the best sense of the word, meaning the screening at the Don’t Knock The Rock Festival in L.A. on Thursday Aug 5th was totally sold out! The Silent Movie Theatre where the event took place seats 180, a fair size theater, and they still had to turn some people away. It was a tremendous evening, the audience response just
wonderful, in fact the film (and me I guess) got a standing ovation, which was a first, and I’m sure I was blushing. It just couldn’t have been a better evening, and thanks again to Allison and Tiffany Anders who program the festival, and to Hadrian Belove and Bret Berg of Cinefamily that run the theatre.

Last Friday Andy Markowitz and Dave Watson of my new favorite blog See It Loud, which is devoted to music film, interviewed me via phone. Thanks to Andy’s lightning editing, the completed interview is now online at http://seeitloud.posterous.com/see-it-loud-10-searching-for-raymond-scott.
Also. just arrived in L.A. for the screening at Don’t Knock The Rock later this week: http://www.cinefamily.org/calendar/thursday.html#august. I’m really excited about this and I’ve heard from a lot of people who are planning to come, so it’s probably a good idea to order tix now if you want to make the scene. More in a day or two, and also see previous post below
L.A. Showing! Don’t Knock The Rock Fest June 25, 2010

More great news–the film will be showing on August 5th at the DON’T KNOCK THE ROCK festival in L.A. , a thrilling development for me. This true film lovers film/music festival is a personal project of famed director ALLISON ANDERS (Gas Food Lodging, Grace of My Heart) and her music supervisor daughter TIFFANY. It runs Thursdays throughout the summer and is produced in association with the folks at the ultimate film lovers group CINEFAMILY. The venue, which is run by Cinefamily, is the
historic Silent Movie Theater on Fairfax. And part two of the program will be a special tour through Raymond Scott music in the Looney Tunes cartoons by animation historian and author JERRY BECK.
Naturally I’m going to be there, haven’t been out to L.A. in well over a year and looking forward to seeing all my West coast friends and participating in this very special event. I’ll be posting with more details over the next several weeks…

A reminder– there’s a showing at the New Hope Film Festival in lovely and legendary Bucks County, Pennsylvania–a long time weekend retreat for arts oriented urbanites from New York and Philadelphia. The film will be shown on Wednesday June 23, 9:15 pm at New Hope Arts Center, 2 Stockton Avenue in New Hope. I will be there and there will be a Q&A afterwards. Hope you can make it! Also, the links are to the documentary listings for the festival, to order tickets can go to the festival home page, then click on the “Ticket Leap Box Office” page, and I’ve also put in a direct link to the buy tickets page: Buy Tickets.
And while I’m at it, here’s a Google Maps link to New Hope:
