Help make the film
You can help us to get the Raymond Scott documentary made! Perhaps you’re a long time Raymond Scott fan or maybe you’re new to the world of Raymond Scott. Either way you now have an awareness of just who Raymond Scott was and why it’s so important to get his story out to the world. We hope you can help us to make this film a reality.
There are several ways you can help us reach our goal of a completed film.
Make a Tax Deductible Charitable Contribution to the Film
Like almost every independent project, we need financial help. To date the film has been self financed, and expenses are mounting. Though Stan Warnow does his own videography and editing, there are still costs for additional labor, travel, equipment rental and rights to music and movie excerpts.
If you can donate any amount above $10 via credit card through one of the links below, it will be hugely appreciated, and for $50 or more you’ll be rewarded with a DVD of the film. Give more than $100 and we’ll include even more (details below). But every little bit helps—if 10,000 people each contribute $10 that would be $100,000! That’s a lot of money (not for some films but it would be for this one!)
Levels of Support:
Up to $49—A heartfelt thank you!
$50-$99—A copy of the DVD when released.
$99-$249—DVD plus credit on the film under “Thanks to.”
$250-$9,999—Everything above, plus an invitation to a backers screening and party prior to the release date of the film.
$10,000 and up: OK we know this is unlikely, but if any Raymond Scott fan out there has deep pockets and can make at least a $10,000 gift to us, they’ll get everything above plus Co-Executive Producer credit on the film and invitations to edit room screenings with the filmmaker including dinners on us! Please contact us for more details: Stan@RaymondScott.com.
$50,000 and up: so now we’re really reaching for the sky, but if you have really deep pockets and this kind of money to support the film you can become Executive Producer. And you’ll still get the DVD and everything else above! Please contact us for more details at Stan@RaymondScott.com.
All donations will be acknowledged via email.
How to Contribute:
The easiest way make a tax deductible contribution is to click on the link below. This will bring you the contribution page for our fiscal sponsor, the Independent Feature Project, on the website www.justgive.org. You will receive an immediate receipt from justgive.org for your contribution, and later a receipt from the Independent Feature Project. Justgive only reports contributions to the IFP once a month, so it will take awhile to receive a confirmation from the IFP and from us directly that your donation has been received.
Be sure to specify the title of the film where the web page asks you to: “Designate my donation (optional)”. This is not optional, as it says. Or rather, if you don’t specify “Raymond Scott: Deconstructing Dad” in that space the contribution won’t get to us—it will go into the IFP general fund. While the IFP is a fine organization and worthy of support, we need the money more than they do! Here’s the link to donate: http://www.justgive.org/giving/donate.jsp?charityId=24543&
Donate through PayPal
If you’d rather have the convenience of giving through PayPal, that’s fine too, but you won’t be entitled to a tax deduction. Just go to PayPal and send any amount of money to WaterfallFilms@AOL.com. You will receive an acknowledgement of your donation directly from us.
Other Ways to Help…
If you can donate to the film that will be great, but there are other ways you can help out as well. If you have a background or interest in film/video production, and want to volunteer your help to the film, we might well be able to use it. We don’t have a budget for salaries (though that might change), but volunteer work can be just as important to the project as monetary support. And if you’re an experienced film/video professional or animator with an interest in Raymond Scott we’d love to hear from you too and we can discuss possibilities. Same thing if you’re an entertainment lawyer or you have any skills you think might be helpful. Send an email to Stan@RaymondScott.com.
